A light in

dark places

A light in dark places.

RAHAB began in 2002 when one woman’s heart was broken for women who were being sex trafficked in Akron, OH.

There was a need and she took action.

Long before ‘trafficking’ was a familiar term, RAHAB’s founder was going into the streets and strip clubs of Akron. She went to meet women in the dark places where they were being exploited to offer kindness, connection, and assistance – without any strings attached. She prayed with them and pointed them toward true freedom in Christ.

She helped countless women, many who walk in freedom today.

RAHAB has grown over the last twenty years, but our foundation remains the same. We go into the darkest places to offer Christ’s love and supportive relationships to those who have exploited in the growing criminal enterprise of sex trafficking.

We encourage you to click the links below to learn more about our current ministry to provide Christ-centered transformational services to those affected by sex trafficking.

Sex trafficking infiltrates our community, not just places far away. We all can do something to positively uplift vulnerable women and children.

We all should do something.”

Human Trafficking 101

Duration: 1 Hour

What it is: HT 101 is an essential teaching on the realities of human trafficking. In this course, we will illuminate the issues of sex trafficking, explain a generalized process for how someone becomes involved in trafficking, and provide practical insight of how trafficking takes place. We will also highlight what we know about traffickers, how someone becomes vulnerable to trafficking, and how demand for commercial sex fuels sex trafficking. By the end of this course, you will be able to articulate the needs and vulnerabilities of trafficking survivors and have knowledge of practical solutions

Who it is for: This course is offered to all members of the community who would like to understand human trafficking and is required for all of RAHAB’s volunteers and staff
