4th Annual Running for RAHAB

September 27, 2019 - September 28, 2019

Have you considered running for a purpose greater than yourself? If so, join us for our 4th annual “Running for RAHAB” event during the 2019 Akron Children’s Hospital Akron Marathon Race Series on 9/28/19.

RAHAB is committed to reaching everyone who is impacted by sexual trafficking and providing the answer for eradicating it while healing our culture through expertise and a proven cutting-edge approach. A major part of this is in partnership with Emerge Counseling Services. Women and children who come to RAHAB participate in long-term traditional and expressive trauma therapies with experienced and caring clinicians at Emerge.

Join the “Running for RAHAB” team by raising money for RAHAB while running the full or half marathon, or as part of a 5 member relay team. Money raised will be used for counseling survivors of sex trafficking in RAHAB’s care and offering supportive training to RAHAB’s dedicated staff.

Human Trafficking 101

Duration: 1 Hour

What it is: HT 101 is an essential teaching on the realities of human trafficking. In this course, we will illuminate the issues of sex trafficking, explain a generalized process for how someone becomes involved in trafficking, and provide practical insight of how trafficking takes place. We will also highlight what we know about traffickers, how someone becomes vulnerable to trafficking, and how demand for commercial sex fuels sex trafficking. By the end of this course, you will be able to articulate the needs and vulnerabilities of trafficking survivors and have knowledge of practical solutions

Who it is for: This course is offered to all members of the community who would like to understand human trafficking and is required for all of RAHAB’s volunteers and staff
