THE MONTHLY PULSE ON RAHAB
Essentials Training Update
Essentials Training was held last month — the first since before the pandemic!
Of course, all direct care staff and volunteers must complete Essentials Training before working with survivors … but this is a training meant for all!
Topics covered included trauma, the truths about trafficking, best practices for working with survivors, and staff and survivor testimonies. This is an amazing opportunity to share our firsthand knowledge from 20 years in the field with the community, making us stronger — together! — and more equipped to end trafficking right here in Northeast Ohio.
The in-person instruction and speakers were excellent — and we had a blast! A few reviews from participants say it all:
- “I loved how short the presentation was, yet it was packed with great information from passionate people who love the Lord and His children!”
- “The entire training was phenomenal. I learned so much! It’s the best training I’ve ever been to — and I’ve been to countless trainings! Thank you so much for having it!”
- “The training was amazing. Each part was well presented and filled with information that deeply touched my heart. I now feel led to get involved by becoming an advocate, a mentor, and to help in any way possible to bring hearts closer to Jesus — to reach out in hope and love to those affected by trafficking.”
So what happens next?
Anyone who has attended an Essentials Training has several options to further their involvement with RAHAB:
- Indirect-care volunteers can hit the ground running — providing meals to our programming, making gift bags for our street and strip teams, joining prayer teams for each program, donating their services (like landscaping) to programs, and more!
- Direct-care volunteers will first choose a program they’d like to work with, and program staff will connect with potential volunteers to make sure they are a good fit, then volunteers will be asked to attend another short, specialized training if required so they can then jump into action!
- Some might feel compelled to give and become financial supporters of RAHAB Ministries.
The goal of Essentials Training is to provide an opportunity for the people in our communities to be aware of human trafficking and recognize the warning signs in day-to-day life. A community that is educated and aware is a community that is closer to eradicating human trafficking!
If you missed the last Essentials Training, don’t worry! Future trainings will be announced soon.

Youngstown Outreach Launch
The Youngstown Outreach team officially launched this month!
We have built relationships with people, organizations, and churches in Youngstown that have already been working to eradicate human trafficking in their area — and we are assessing needs to evaluate how RAHAB can best serve this community.
The first Outreach Specialized Training for Youngstown will be held later this month. All direct-care employees and volunteers go through multiple trainings to ensure the highest quality trauma-informed care for every woman and child served.
Plus, in order to continue our expansion in Youngstown, please consider stepping forward with a gift today, as more women and children are desperate for the help you offer them through RAHAB and the hope Jesus provides. God has clearly called us to this work in Youngstown, and we will follow His leading!
Your generous donation today will help us provide meals to the survivors we meet and befriend on the streets … as well as bags of essential self-care items like lotion, hair supplies, headbands, makeup, deodorant, feminine care, and more.
If you have any questions, please reach out to Becca Kahle at [email protected].
It’s an exciting answer to prayer to have launched RAHAB services in Youngstown! As always, this important work cannot be done without your generous support. Thank you for everything you do!

20 Moments for 20 Years — #7
Program Specialist, Martha has many heartwarming memories from her time at RAHAB, but one recent moment really stands out …
Hear firsthand about the impact you are making through your partnership with RAHAB as Martha explains what a blessing it is to see vulnerable women experience Jesus and know that He “hears them, knows them, sees them, and cares about them.”
RAHAB Has a Blog!

So we have recently relaunched our blog — designed to keep you up to date on a variety of topics including:
- education and awareness
- trauma and healing
- devotionals
